Three senior citizens and two other bettors on Thursday claimed their share of the P16-million jackpot in the Aug. 16 6/49 SuperLotto draw.
The five winners included an 80-year-old retiree from Negros Occidental province; a 64-year-old government employee from Sta. Rosa, Laguna; and a 63-year-old former overseas Filipino worker from Novaliches, Quezon City, according to Joseph Muego, media officer of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
The five winners, who picked the winning combination 07-30-20-12-05-08, took home P3.2 million each, Muego said.
“We are gladdened by the fact that most of the grand prize winners now are senior citizens. This is like a consolation for their hard work and years of raising their families,” said PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.
