Security aides need lifesaving training, says solon

MANILA, Philippines—Following the tragedy that left Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo and two others dead, a lawmaker on Thursday proposed that security aides of government officials undergo lifesaving training.

Isabela Representative Rodolfo Albano said that such trainings were important for personnel tasked to protect government officials, saying that lifesaving skills will come in handy in emergency situations where rescue and first aid are needed.

He said that rescue techniques and basic training in first aid such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be taught to security aides.
