Accenture reintroduces management consulting services

AFTER strengthening its two core businesses in the country – technology and outsourcing – Accenture Philippines has recently reintroduced management consulting services, this time focusing on local companies.

Known before as Andersen Consulting, which was the business and technology consulting division of accounting firm Arthur Andersen, Accenture or “accent to the future” has always been involved in management consulting, technology and outsourcing.

It decided to reintroduce management consulting services to fill a need for their expertise in the domestic arena, said Manolito T. Tayag, Accenture Philippines country managing director, during a media roundtable forum last week at their Global One Eastwood office.

“We introduced it a couple of years ago and we are slowly adding that component in the business for the domestic market which will help clients grow their businesses with us and become a global company,” said Tayag.

Tayag said Accenture would like to focus on management consulting services for companies in communication, financial services, and resources including utilities, power generators and water.

In Cebu, he said they could offer the services to companies in the power generation and water distribution sectors.

Management consultancy services include providing business strategy, business analytics including business intelligence and data warehousing, and risk management.

Also included is business sustainability services, customer relationship management, human resource management, enterprise performance and finance management.

Accenture has 14 delivery centers, with 12 in Metro Manila and two in Cebu.

The firm’s IT services include systems integration, applications outsourcing and infrastructure outsourcing.

According to Tayag, the Philippines is considered a major growth center for Accenture’s Global Delivery Network of about 50 centers.

Accenture Philippines is the second largest node in the network and the third largest in terms of the number of employees next to the United States and India, employing over 21,000 professionals.

“With the reintroduction of our management consulting services, we hope to also slowly introduce our other services to local companies and be a partner with them for their growth. Thus, also providing more employment opportunities along the way,” said Tayag./Reporter Aileen Garcia-Yap
