MANILA, Philippines—A colleague of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo on Wednesday said he was proud to have worked with his boss, saying Robredo left a great example that would guide him for the future.
“I will always be grateful to the secretary for giving me the chance to work in the DILG,” Department of Interior and Local Government Consultant on Disaster Preparedness and Climate Change Adaptation Rolando “Rolly” Distura said in a Radyo Inquirer 990 AM interview.
Distura said he had deep ties with Robredo even when he was starting as a town mayor of Dumangas, Iloilo.
He added Robredo would have been with him in his trip to Agusan to check on the river basin project of the government there. Distura said he and other representatives would be in Agusan from Wednesday until Friday.
Distura also lauded Robredo’s Seal of Disaster Preparedness (SDP) program, which he described a very effective program in encouraging local governments to bolster their programs on disaster preparedness.
He said Robredo was a sincere, dedicated, and upright man, who inspired his staff to work hard and set an example for others.
