Cobra on snake  diet in zoo

The king cobra whose venomous bite nearly cost the life of a Cebu City Zoo keeper last week is now a major attraction in the park.

Days after it was captured for biting zoo keeper Ronaldo “Ron-Ron” Aventurado, the reptile finally took its first meal made of live small pythons. The King Cobra had refused to eat the rats fed to it.

Visitors have flocked to the zoo to take a look at  the King Cobra being kept in a glass enclosure.

Visiting Indian wildlife expert Soham Mukherjee of Humane Society recommended releasing the cobra in the wild.

But Mayor Michael Rama said he would rather have the serpent donated to facilities that can take care of it rather that release it and become a danger to people.

Controversial talent manager Annabelle Rama said she is now visiting some Cebu City north barangays to formally introduce herself to the voters.

She joined the Team Rama north district hand shaking in 17 sitios in barangay Sambag 1 which started at 6 a.m. and went on to stay for the next three hours last yesterday.

On Monday, Rama also attended her first pulong pulong in barangay Busay..

She will be running against Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan bet that would be either former north district legislator Raul Del Mar or his daughter, the incumbent north district Rep. Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar in next year’s polls./Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
