MANILA, Philippines—The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the suspension of Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri for six months over his alleged failure to remit the city government employees’ contributions to the Government Service Insurance System.
The Ombudsman said a total of P343.8 million worth of GSIS contributions were allegedly not remitted by Echiverri.
The complaint against Echiverri was filed by Vice Mayor Edgar Erice.
