Robredo’s replacement should be like him, VACC suggests to Aquino

MANILA, Philippines—For his replacement, President Benigno Aquino III should choose someone like the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo—non-violent and incorruptible, the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) through its founding chair Dante Jimenez said.

“The loss of DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo is irreparable. He had shown his fellow government workers the value of good governance and leadership by example,” Jimenez said in a statement.

“We hope the President will get a replacement who is non-violent and incorruptible,” he added.

Robredo was supposed to be the VACC’s guest of honor and speaker in its 14th founding anniversary on Sept. 20.

“I just spoke to him last week for confirmation. We will miss him,” Jimenez said.
