Carmen town bares activities for fiesta
THE local government of Carmen in northern Cebu will celebrate it fiesta in honor of its patron, San Agustin de Hippo on Aug. 28 with the theme: “The year of faith: Going back to the roots of Christianity.”
The celebration opened last Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. with a Mass presided by Most Rev. Emilio Bataclan, Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu, followed by the torch parade.
Other activities that the municipality lined up for the celebration are air soft competition and SMB disco concert (Aug. 18), air soft competition (Aug. 19), vendors’ night (Aug. 20), Manila celebrities vs. Mayor’s stallions basketball exhibition (Aug. 21), municipal employees’ night (Aug. 22), teachers night (Aug. 23), Cebu Technological University night (Aug. 24), fun run, horse show/carabao contest and live band (Aug. 25), University of the Visayas chorale (Aug. 26), perlas sa barangay (Aug. 27) and civic parade and dance palabas (Aug. 28).
Among the celebrities who will see action in today’s basketball exhibition game are Paul Jake Castillo, Ervic Vijandre, John Hall, Jhong Hilario, Joross Gamboa, Luis Alandy, Jason Abalos, Young JV and Marco Alcaraz.
