Bubble Gum Gang
Police yesterday warned the public of the “Bubble Gum Gang”, who already victimized two jeepney passengers last week.
One man would secretly place a bubble gum on a victim’s hair and then inform the victim that there’s a gum on his or her hair, said Insp. Rolando Pinili, chief of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office.
And while the man would try to help remove the gum from the victim’s hair, the man’s companion would pick the victim’s bag or pocket.
The gang had already victimized two passengers. One of the passengers lost a cell phone from the thieves while the other lost a wallet containing undetermined amount of cash. /Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
Talisay stabbing

Police are still looking for the assailant, Marlon Gabasa, 34, who fled after the attack.
Investigation showed that the argument started after Gabasa confronted Restauro about last week’s incident where Restauro threw a jackfruit at the face of Gabasa. The argument led to the stabbing attack. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
Talisay shooting
A man with two companions on a motorcycle shot dead a 43-year-old man on a motorcycle in sitio Kaduldulan, barangay Lawaan 3, Talisay City on Sunday.
Arnold Sasing of sitio Kasagingan died after he was shot several times in the body.
Witnesses identified Eric Mercado as the shooter and Ramil Matadina as one of Mercado’s companions riding the motorcycle.
According to investigation, Sasing was on his motorcycle when Mercado and his companions arrived on another motorcycle. Mercado then pulled out a gun and shot Sasing who fell off his bike. Sasing still managed to run on foot but Mercado and his companions chased the victim and shot him several times.
Police said personal grudge was the motive of the shooting. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
