MANILA, Philippines – Having supervised the search and rescue operations for Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo and two others who have been missing for two days, President Benigno Aquino III will be heading back to Manila after meeting with the Cabinet official’s wife on Monday.

Transportation and Communications Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II tweeted that Aquino was on his way to meet lawyer Leni Robredo in Naga City. He urged the public to not speculate about the meeting as the President only wanted to see Robredo’s wife to brief her on the ongoing search and rescue operations.

“His trip does not indicate any new developments or info other than that he wants to personally brief the family on the ongoing efforts,” tweeted Roxas.

From Naga City, Aquino will head back to Manila to prepare for Ninoy Aquino Day on Tuesday.
