THE SAN BEDA Red Lions reclaimed the lead in the standings after they demolished the Lyceum Pirates, 77-47, in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament last Saturday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Baser Amer reaffirmed his status as one of the best point guards in the league by dishing out an incredible 16 assists to help the Red Lions get their eighth win in 10 games.
It was a great bounceback for the Davao-native, who failed to score a single point in their previous win over Letran.
The Pirates lost their fifth game in a row and now tote a 2-8 (win-loss) record.
The Red Lions sealed the win in the fourth period where they unleashed a 12-0 run anchored on the play of Rome dela Rosa, Jake Pascual and Amer that put them on top, 63-54./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
