Jaca eyes Mexican legend Marquez for next foe

JIMREX Jaca (40W-6L-3D, 20 KOs) may have a shot at the spotlight again.

This after ALA Boxing Promotions CEO and president Michael Aldeguer said Mexican boxing legend and current interim WBO lightwelterweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez (45-3-1,39 KOs) is looking for a tough southpaw to fight in preparation for a possible fourth rematch against Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao next year.

Aldeguer this development came at a prefect time as he is thinking of  giving Jaca a shot at a possible rematch against Marquez.

Jaca lost to Marquez in a ninth-round knockout last 2006 for the interim WBO featherweight title.

“I am very excited for this rematch,” said Jaca, who returned to ALA Boxing Gym last June.  “He is already old but still very tough and excellent inside the ring but I will make sure that I will be giving my best in our rematch.”

Aldeguer also said, this would mean big things for ALA Promotions.

“We are currently planning for this rematch because this would also mean huge exposure for ALA Boxing Promotions if we are able to get Marquez to fight Jaca,” said Aldeguer.  “We are planning to hold it here in the country but we will see if things will get better.”

Jaca is tenetatively set to fight again on Oct. 20 in the undercard of Aj “Bazooka” Banal’s bout  against Pongluang Sor Singyu for tge WBO bantamweight crown. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
