Tattooed man stuffed inside sack

MANILA, Philippines – Police authorities are looking into the death of a 22-year-old man, who was found with ligature marks on his neck and placed inside a sack before dawn Sunday, police said.

The victim later identified as a.ka. Erbin Liwanag was discovered inside a sack dumped at the side of the road along Tayuman Street, corner J. Luna Street fronting Puregold Tayuman, Tondo, Manila around 3:30 a.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Charles John Duran of Manila Police District’s Homicide Division said.

Duran said the victim, who had tattoo marks “Caloy” in his right foot and “Erwin” and “Gary” at the back, was found topless, wearing only grey boxer shorts.

A closer examination on the victim revealed ligature marks on his neck and with blood coming out from his nose, the investigator said.

“A certain ‘Aida,’ who refused to give her full identity, gave some personal circumstances of the deceased, but no one could give a good account of the incident,” Duran said, adding that the case was placed for follow-up investigation.

The body is now with Cruz Funeral for autopsy and safe-keeping, he said.
