A Design Speak lecture series by Cebu Design Education Foundation (CDEF) will be held on July 21 at 6 p.m. at the Chiye Mori Design Library the 856 G Gallery, AS Fortuna Street, Mandaue City.
Dubbed “Design Speak: Abaca, Wild Fiber,” the free lecture is designed to benefit design students and young designers in Cebu.
Francis Dravigny will be the resource speaker. Dravigny studied art history and jewelry design in Paris where he founded a jewelry company in 1978.
His main client was Cartier, Fred and Van Clef. He ventured into furniture and furniture accessory design in 1991 and sold items for William Sonoma, Neiman Marcus, Lafayette, Lane Crawford and others.
Design Speak is regularly conducted by CDEF, a non-stock non-profit organization formed by Cebu-based designers like Kenneth Cobonpue, Butch Carungay and Annie Chen.
CDEF also manages the Chiye Mori Design Library that has a collection of close to a thousand of books, journals and magazines on architecture, home furniture, fashion and multimedia.
