MANILA, Philippines–Four soldiers were injured in separate incidents in Basilan and Maguindanao on Thursday, the Philippine Army said Friday.

In Basilan, a platoon leader of the 15th Special Forces Company was hurt in a landmine explosion in Baiwas village, Sumisip Thursday while conducting security operations in a forested area, reports from Army spokesman Major Harold Cabunoc said.

The injured officer sustained minor injuries.

The terror bandits behind the explosion were believed to be led by a certain Abu Kik.

In Maguindanao, three soldiers sustained shrapnel wounds after an undetermined number of bandits attacked a military outpost in Bagan village late Thursday night, Cabunoc also said.

Pursuit operations have been launched to hunt down the perpetrators, who were also believed to be behind the series of attacks in Maguindanao last week.
