The San Carlos Seminary College (SCSC) will hold its Intramurals 2012 on Aug. 18 to 24. It will be a week full of fun, excitement and enjoyment.
The priest formators headed by seminary rector Fr. Leonilo Igloria formulated the theme “Run the race, keep the faith” as a response to the Pope’s declaration of the Year of Faith that will start on Oct. 21.
The Intramurals committee led by Fr. Leo Cubillo, assisted by seminarian Michael John Lubay, came up with a tribal concept that has relevance with the upcoming canonization of Beato Pedro Calungsod.
The different teams like the “Pundok Bato,” “Haup Bangkaw,” “Hugpong Katana” and “Bando Hikot” will compete in the championship night on Aug. 24, an event with a tribal concept that can be associated to the martyrdom of the Visayan catechist.
The SCSC community invites the public to witness its weeklong activities. The opening parade on Aug. 19 will feature a “Dance Palabas” competition.
Nightly activities include philosophy, general information, latin and religion quiz bee on Aug. 20; balak, extemporaneous speaking and instrumental contests on Aug. 21; Theater Night which showcasing four classical plays on Aug. 23; and Championship Night featuring modern dance competition on Aug. 24.
The seminary’s annual Intramurals aims to manifest the seminarians’ talents and skills, solidify their ties as brothers, strengthen their spirituality through sports, and foster a strong community of Jesus’ disciples.
