Plane bound for Davao crash-lands; pilot safe
STA. CRUZ, Davao del Sur—A four-seater Cessna plane crash-landed into the sea off Barangay Bato here Thursday. No one was injured.
Senior Insp. Noel Villahermosa, Sta. Cruz deputy police chief, said the plane, with body number RPC 391, came from General Santos City and was on its way to Davao City past 8 a.m. when it suffered engine trouble.
Villahermosa said Tañada Pinto, 60, the pilot, tried to land the plane at an air strip in Hagonoy town, but it didn’t reach the town and instead fell into the waters off Barangay Bato.
