MJDL Customs Brokerage claimed its third straight victory after trouncing Avenido Customs Brokerage, 70-64, last Monday night to snare the lead in the Customs — 3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 basketball tournament at the Basak San Nicolas gym.
Avenido Brokers led in the first three periods including a, 55-50 advantage heading to the fourth quarter. But MJDL caught fire at endgame capped by Baeng Medalle’s booming triple with two minutes left that tied the score at 50-all and the crucial baskets by Jaymar Elloren and Janus Abellana that completed the come-from-behind win.
Janus Abellana and Baeng Medalle led MJDL with 16 points apiece while Jonas Cayanong paced Avenido Brokers (1-2) with 15 markers.
Earlier, Limasawa Customs Brokerage nosed out Cebu International Port Users (CIPU), 105-99, for its 2nd win in three games (2-1), while the latter dropped to 1-2.
Taks Moral and Francis Palero had 36 and 24 points, respectively for Limasawa Brokers while Glen Allerite and Cris Manulat paced CIPU with 22 and 19 points, respectively.
