After bringing his son to school Tuesday morning, Arman Santos was found hanging from a wooden brace with a nylon cord looped around his neck and gasping for breath inside his home in Quezon City.
Santos was rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital by his nephew, Reynald Villaverde, in an effort to revive him.
But it was too late.
Case investigator Police Officer 2 Dennis Llapitan said Santos lived in the same house as his nephew.
Santos’ family told police that prior to the incident, the victim woke up early and told them that he would bring his son to school.
Upon returning home, Santos immediately went up to his room where he was discovered hours later.
Villaverde told police that he decided to drop by his uncle’s room to check on him and was surprised when he saw Santos with a cord wrapped around his neck.
Relatives worked together to get the victim down and immediately brought him to the hospital where he died an hour later.
Llapitan said Santos’ family was not aware of any reason why the victim would hang himself.
