MANILA, Philippines – Suspected riding-in-tandem robbers were killed in a pre-dawn shootout with police in Manila Tuesday, police said.

Senior Police Officer 3 Genesis Aliling of Manila Police District station 4 said the two still unidentified suspects were killed after engaging in a firefight with police authorities along Piy Margal Street corner A.H. Lacson Avenue in Sampaloc, Manila around 2:45 a.m.

Aliling said the suspects were flagged down by roving cops after they were seen driving a motorcycle without a license plate attached to it.
