South tops North in All-Star game of E-League basketball

THE SOUTH All-Stars leaned on the triumvirate of Lourenz Limpangog, Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla and Mervin Balansag to pull off a 77-70 win over the North All-Stars in the All-Star Game of the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Limpangog fired 17 points, Resilla listed 14 markers, 11 rebounds, eight steals, and four assists while Balansag scattered 12 points.

Resilla’s brilliant all-around game netted him the All-Star Most Valuable Player title.

In the side events, Rueben Cabilino ruled the three-point shootout, scoring 13 points in the championship round to beat four other contestants.

Fritz Blanes was crowned champion in the skills challenge, finishing the competition in 31 seconds to edge out four other participants.

The tandem of Julian Suerte and Alain Buligan went home with the two-point ball crown by scoring 52 points in the final round.
