USPF, CIT-U seek first win today

Games today:

Cebu Coliseum

5 p.m. – UV vs. Don Bosco (Jrs.)

6:30 p.m. – USPF vs. CIT-U (Srs.)

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers and the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats will be gunning for respectability today when they clash against one another in the 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.  men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

The two teams have struggled out of the gates so far this season, losing both of their assignments to fall to identical records of 0-2 (win-loss).

However, one of these squads will get to barge into the win column today and end their two-game slump.

For the Wildcats, they will welcome back to their fold star wingman Floyd Taboada, who served out a one-game suspension for being ejected in their game against the University of the Visayas Green Lancers.

He is expected to join forces with Axel Rabaya, Jeffrey Taghoy and Allen Dimco to try to get that much-needed first win.

USPF, on the other hand, will counter with James and Earvin Ferraren, Joseph Sedurifa and power forward Fritz Dajalos.

In the juniors division, the reigning champions UV Baby Lancers aim for their fifth straight win when they tangle with the hapless Don Bosco Greywolves.

Expected to showcase his prodigious talents once more is the reigning MVP Paul Desiderio, who is leading the league in scoring this season.
