While the city may be one of the least affected by last week’s torrential rains, Las Piñas Mayor Vergel Aguilar on Saturday called on residents to avail themselves of free preventive medicines against leptospirosis.
Aguilar said 30 health centers across the city are providing the antibiotic doxycycline.
“While we were spared by the dreaded effects of high flooding, I also want to make sure that the health of our residents are protected as well,” he said in a statement.
Since Tuesday, city health workers have been providing medicines to rescuers and volunteers who helped evacuate families along the city’s coastal areas. Jaymee T. Gamil
