Hospital celebrates Nutrition Month, holds feeding in adopted community

THE Perpetual Succour Hospital (PSH) gave free consultations, medicines and nutritious food to its adopted community in Upper Laguerta, barangay Lahug, C ebu City on July 27 in celebration of Nutrition Month.

Baring the theme “Pagkain ng gulay ay ugaliin, araw-araw itong ihain,” the outreach activity, sponsored by Abbott Philippines and Nestle Philippines, provided food and school supplies such as notebooks and pencils for the children beneficiaries.

Doctors and staff of PSH and barangay health workers volunteered their time and effort that led to the success of the activity. They are Juliet Sanchez, PSH’s social worker; Romullo Ferrer, Nutrition Center supervisor; Jelsinor Brezette Arnejo, therapeutic dietician; Fe Verano, SBC II supervisor; Sister Maria Leny Velasco, Nutrition Center supervisor; and Dr. Jose Roy Catis of The Family and Community Medicine department, together with his post-graduate interns Dr. Marvin Aburado, Dr. Vis Tara Arias, Dr. Leah Lagumbay, Dr. Irish Gayle Linog and Dr. Mary Fatima Talisik and barangay Lahug health workers Anita Caballero and Amelita Bernardo.

The hospital was not only doing the activity in Upper Laguerta during the Nutrition Month but also during their weekly visit to the area.
