A man who posed as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was recently arrested right inside the bureau’s headquarters on Taft Avenue, Manila, after receiving marked money from a security agency official whom he allegedly tried to swindle.

Danilo Cruz Beltran, 55, of Antipolo City, offered to mediate a labor dispute between Nazareth Security Agency Inc. and a former employee, and demanded P80,000 for his services.

Beltran was arrested inside the NBI cafe after taking P40,000 from Rufino Macutay, son of the security agency’s owner.
