Body of lady trader found in hotel room

A businesswoman was found dead inside a hotel room along the university belt in Manila after she was allegedly beaten to death by a Caucasian boyfriend at dawn yesterday.

SPO2 Glenzor Antonio Vallejo of the Manila Police District Homicide section said  Virgie Francisco Eras, 55, was found with a swollen face  inside Bell-Marina Hotel and restaurant  along  in Sampaloc, Manila.

The investigator said Eras had checked in at the hotel around 10 p.m. on Thursday. Minutes later, the the victim’s  boyfriend, known only as “Frank,” estimated to be in his 20s, joined Eras in her room.

Hotel employees said he left the hotel after 30 minutes. “We have yet to establish the motive and how the victim died,” Vallejo said, adding that the foreigner remained unidentified and at large. Eras’ relatives told police that the victim had said she had a “young boyfriend who was a foreigner.”  Nancy C. Carvajal
