Bhutakalz captures Wednesday Club crown

TEAM Bhutakalz formerly Young Lawyers Association of Cebu (YLAC) tripped IBP-B, 68-62 to capture the championship of the 2012 Wednesday Club basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.

Bhutakalz led in the first two periods with former UC Webmaster Kern Sesante and Cris Ang leading the assault. But IBP-B retaliated with an 18-12 run to grab a, 48-47 lead going to the final quarter.

However, Bhutakalz outscored IBP-B, 21-14 in the fourth for the 6-point win.

Fermin Pepito led Bhutakalz with 11 points while Van Ligutan and Kern Sesante added 10 points apiece. Kirby Raboy and Barry Busi paced IBP-B with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

FEATURED STORIES

Earlier, IBP-Gwapo beat undermanned PICPA, 88-80, to lift the third place trophy.

High-leaping center Ruel Juban and small forward Bads Del Prado led IBP-Gwapo with 26 and 17 points, respectively while Andre Tocao and Ban Talaroc paced PICPA with 24 and 23 markers.
