Pagasa downgrades alert level to yellow in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) downgraded the alert level warning over parts of Metro Manila from “Orange” to “Yellow”.

In its latest update, Pagasa said the new warning was issued at 10:30 a.m. and covers the Camanava (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) area, Quezon City, Marikina City and Manila.

Moderate to heavy (5.0 to 10.0 mm/hour) rains will be experienced in the Camanava area while light to moderate rains (2.5 – 5.0 mm/hr) rains will pour over Quezon City, Marikina and Manila for the next two hours, Pagasa said.

Residents in flood and landslide prone areas were advised to take necessary precaution against any possible accidents.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall (8.0 – 15.0 mm/hr) was recorded over Marikina, Quezon City and the Camanava over the last three hours, the state-run weather bureau said.
