Orange alert raised over parts of Metro Manila; possible flooding, landslides

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration raised the rainfall warning over parts of Metro Manila to orange alert and renewed warnings of possible flooding and landslides.
 

The warning was raised at 9 a.m. and identified Camanava, Quezon City, Marikina City and Manila as its target areas.

Pagasa said that moderate to heavy (7.5-15.0 milimmeters per hour) rains with occasional intense (15.0-30.0 mm/hr) rains will pour over Camanava, Quezon City and nearby areas for the next two hours.

Residents in low-lying and mountainous areas were advised to take necessary precaution against possible flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile moderate to heavy rains was observed over northern part of Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malabon and Navotas while heavy to intense rains was experienced in North Caloocan, Pagasa said.
