House resumes budget hearing

MANILA, Philippines–Deliberations on the proposed 2013 national budget resumed Thursday at the House of Representatives after being halted due to bad weather.

House committee on appropriations chair Cavite Representative Joseph Emilio Abaya said that they were looking into next year’s proposed funding for the Presidential Communications Operations Office and the Department of Justice.

Budget for the Department of Energy, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Tourism and the judiciary whose hearings had to be postponed will be rescheduled, he said.
