UC battles CIT today

TWO-time defending champions, University of Cebu Webmasters, hope to send a message that they are still not to be counted out this year as they face off against the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats in the 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) men’s basketball tournament today at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Webmasters have seen their stock drop after the departure of their top guns led by the 6-foot-10 June Mar Fajardo, the expected top pick in the 2012 PBA Draft, Edward Pao and Luigi Bercede.
Left to fend for the team is star guard, Brian Heruela, who scored 26 points but had little help in their, 79-86 loss to the University of San Carlos Warriors last Sunday.
The Wildcats on the other hand, are itching for a win especially after the, 51-72 bashing they got from the University of the Visayas Green Lancers last Tuesday. Making matters worse, ace wingman, Floyd Taboada, will not be seeing action today as he will be serving a one-game suspension after he was ejected for incurring two unsportsmanlike fouls in the game against UV.
