Marikina River water level goes down, still in fifth alarm

MANILA, Philippines—Marikina River water level went down from 19.2 meters at 10 a.m. Wednesday to 18.7 meters as of 11:45 a.m..

On Tuesday night, water level in the river reached 20 meters, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported.

However, Marikina is still under fifth alarm and residents remain at evacuation centers.

On the other hand, San Mateo river water level also went down to 20.5 meter from 22 meters Tuesday night.

But a total of 34,412 evacuees or 7,000 families still remain at evacuation centers in the area.
