Floods leave 1 dead in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines—A  40-year old man was found dead after drowning in floods brought about by Tuesday’s heavy rains, a Radyo Inquirer 990 AM report said.

A report by Chona Yu of Radyo Inquirer said Diego San Jose, a resident of Barangay Panghulo, Malabon, was found dead Tuesday.

The report said data from Bong Padua, chief of the Malabon public information office, revealed that 12,870 individuals in Malabon were affected by the heavy rains and floods.

About 2,000 families were crammed in 29 evacuation centers, the report said.

The report also said that 17 out of the 21 barangays in Malabon still remained submerged in floods.
