2 men, woman nabbed for robbery

TWO men previously jailed for robbery cases were arrested after they allegedly robbed a couple in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

 
Lito Juntilla, 25, and Rolando Estremos, 22, were identified by Kent Granada Montero, 26 and Marilyn Plaza Gallardo as the people who robbed them while the couple was dating in a dark area in the barangay past 11 p.m. last Monday.

 
Richel Fudalan Plaza, 27, live-in partner of Estremos, was also arrested on suspicion that she was a cohort of the two suspected robbers.

Police said Gallardo and Montero were dating when two men approached them and declared a hold-up.

With one of the robbers pointing a gun at them, the victims were asked to drop to the ground while the suspects took their valuables.

 
Taken from the couple were a silver necklace with a pendant worth P5,000; one silver necklace worth P2,500; jacket worth P300; one sunglass worth P500; and a wallet containing P250.

 
Police said the robbers fired shots before leaving the couple, who then reported to the Consolacion police precinct.

 
Accompanied by the couple, members of the Consolacion police tracked down the suspects and saw Estremos, Gallardo and Plaza walking along a road.

 
Police arrested Estremos and Juntilla after they were identified by the couple.

 
Plaza was also arrested after some of the stolen items were recovered from her possession, said  Senior Insp. Wilbert Parilla, chief of the Consolacion police.

A .38 revolver was recovered from Juntilla, said police.  Police said Juntilla was previously jailed at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, while Estremos was once jailed at the Muntinlupa Jail./CORRESPONDENTS NORMAN V. MENDOZA AND GABRIEL C. BONJOC
