Binisaya film festival joins One Cebu Expo

THE Binisaya Film Festival was invited to showcase its collection of short films about Cebuano culture and heritage during the One Cebu Expo.

 
The Binisaya short films, with a total screening time of 2 hours and 34 minutes, will be shown for free on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Cebu International Convention Center in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

 
These include Ang Katapusang Bagting (29 minutes), Ampo (4 minutes), Yawyaw (5 minutes), Liwat sa laway (2 minutes), Ngilngig stories (34 minutes), Ang gugma ni Olivia (36 minutes), Undo (19 minutes), Peace Valley (17 minutes), Doktora (29 minutes), Saranghae my tutor (29 minutes) and Uwan init pista sa langit (30 minutes). There will be three screenings — 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

One Cebu Expo is an annual event organized by the Cebu Provincial government in celebration of the province’s 443rd founding anniversary.

Meanwhile, the Binisaya film festival is calling on students and non-students to submit entries for the “Cinemarehiyon: Cinema in the Regions” in October.

 
The winners in short film, documentary, animation and music video categories will receive a prize from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and other sponsors.
