NON-GOVERNMENT organizations working to end human trafficking in the country is organizing a series of road show concerts nationwide this August to raise awareness among the Filipino youths on the need to stop human trafficking.
The Visayan Forum Foundation Inc. (VF) has earlier partnered with MTV Exit and the Movement of Anti-Trafficking Advocates (MATA) for the nationwide road show concerts.
MTV Exit or Music Television’s End Exploitation and Trafficking aims to increase awareness and prevention of human trafficking through television programs, online content, live events and partnerships with anti-trafficking organizations.
MATA is a youth-led national network geared towards motivating and engaging other youths to “become voices for the voiceless victims of human trafficking in the Philippines,” said Romualdo Señeris II of the VF in Negros Oriental.
The Dumaguete leg of the road show will roll out on Aug. 17 at the Freedom Park, featuring three local bands and the Manila-based Franco Band and Kyle Patrick of Click 5.
“We are hoping to mobilize not only the youth advocates, but also the stakeholders from the academe, private sector and the local government in this endeavor,” said Señeris.
