Arroyo back in Manila, mum on new graft raps

MANIlLA, Philippines — Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo arrived back in the country this Saturday morning but declined to answer questions about corruption and electoral fraud allegations against her.

Arroyo and former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo arrived on board Royal Dutch Airline flight 803 from Amsterdam at 8:55 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

“We have a spokesman,” said Arroyo when asked about the latest graft allegations against her involving the use of funds from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office for the Catholic bishops.

The former First Gentleman also gave the same answer.
