SC cancels Tuesday session, will discuss Carpio disbarment complaint Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has cancelled its en banc (full court) session Tuesday, SC acting Spokesperson Gleo Guerra said.

Instead, the high court will hold a special en banc session on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The high court will discuss the disbarment complaint filed against acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio.

Carpio has been slapped with a disbarment complaint by Lauro Vizconde on Tuesday for allegations of using his influence to secure positions in several judiciary for those being favored by his former law office.

Vizconde also reiterated his allegation that Carpio lobbied for the acquittal of Hubert Webb and his co-accused who have been previously convicted for the death of the wife and two daughters of Vizconde.
