P25,000 can help save a life

With the help of kindhearted Inquirer readers, Lecy Viral hopes to complete the six chemotherapy sessions her doctor had recommended for her after she was diagnosed to be suffering from Stage 2 ovarian cancer.

The only thing that has prevented her from having her sixth and final session at Philippine General Hospital is her lack of money. She was supposed to undergo treatment on

Jan. 31.

Each session costs P25,000.

The 40-year-old native from Romblon works as a housemaid in Manila. She came to the city three years ago to find a job so that she would have money to send home to her father who suffered a stroke. Both her parents have since passed away.

“I never thought I’d be a patient myself who would need somebody’s help. I have no one to turn to now as I have been to different charity institutions to ask for help,” she said.
