Residents near Tullahan, Tumana rivers told to evacuate

MANILA, Philippines – Residents near the Tullahan and Tumana rivers were advised to evacuate to higher ground or towards evacuation centers as La Mesa Dam nears spilling level, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday evening.

“The La Mesa dam system is near overflow and higher than usual flood water is expected as a result of the on-going downpour in the [National Capital Region] and nearby regions,” it said.
