Marikina evacuees return home

MANILA, Philippines – Evacuated residents in Marikina have started going back to their homes as water level in Marikina river subsided Monday.

Of the almost 5,000 persons evacuated in H. Bautista, CIS, Malanday and Bulekak Gym, only 1,034 were left in Bulelak Gym, said Office of Civil Defense Director Susana Cruz.

As of latest, water level at Marikina river was down to 15.9 meters above sea level, after reaching its third alarm of 17 meters at 3a.m.
