MANILA, Philippines – Police expect that more witnesses will come out to help in their investigation of San Beda Law student Marc Andre Marcos’ death due to hazing.
“Right now we are not putting up a reward because we see there are many who want to cooperate,” Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, director general Nicanor Bartolome, said in an ambush interview on Monday.
“Lately, a few neophytes have come out. Definitely more will come out in the next couple of days,” Bartolome said.
Cases have been filed but the police wanted to strengthen the case further that was why more evidence and witnesses were being gathered, he added.
“We are calling on those who know anything about the incident, whether victim or part of the initiation, it would be a big contribution to our investigation whatever information they can give,” Bartolome said.
Two freshmen law students from San Beda College Mendiola, Ryan Christopher Maranan and Ephraim Daniel Lara, have begun cooperating with police as witnesses.
Marcos, 20, died due to serious physical injuries Monday last week or a day after attending a fraternity initiation of Lex Leonum Fraternitas in Dasmariñas City in Cavite.
