3 killed in Basilan ambush

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Three persons were killed while two others were wounded when ambushed by unidentified armed men in the village of Maganda in Lamitan City in Basilan on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Inspector Kenneth Balisang of the Lamitan Police said two unidentified men, wearing camouflage and armed with M16 rifles, fired at the victims who were riding a motorcycle at around 5:30 p.m.


Killed were Mahmud Mohammad, Halim Matias and Arden Eve Medina.

Police are still investigating the incident.
