MANILA, Philippines – The fire which broke out at a residential area along Taft Avenue Friday morning has been put out, an officer from the Pasay City Fire Department said.
Fire Officer 3 Luisito de Guzman said that fire out was declared at 11:59 a.m.
De Guzman said they were still trying to determine the damage brought about by the blaze, which initial investigation showed was caused by an LPG explosion.
Senior fire Officer 2 Felix Lazarte, assistant operations chief of the Pasay Fire Station, told 990AM that aside from having boarders on the second and third floors, the building housed a commercial establishment on its first floor.
The fire that started at 7:37 a.m. disrupted operations of the Light Rail Transit 1 as smoke rose from the affected residential area. LRT Authority spokesman Hernando Cabrera told INQUIRER.net that only half of the line could operate from 7:53 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
The spokesman said they were able to resume normal operations after 8:40 a.m.
