Pagasa: No storm but rains continue
MANILA, Philippines—So far, there is only a small chance the low pressure area spotted far east of northern Luzon would enter the Philippine area of responsibility, the weather bureau said Saturday.
At 8 a.m. Saturday, the low pressure area was located some 1,070 kilometers east of northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services said in a bulletin.
“It is still too far to affect any part of the country,” said Pagasa.
“There’s a low chance the LPA will enter the Philippine area of responsibility but we can’t discount the possibility,” said Pagasa forecaster Adzar Aurelio in a television interview.
The southwest monsoon, meanwhile, is seen to continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Luzon and the Visayas, becoming widespread over western sections of Luzon, Pagasa said.
It said widespread rains could trigger flash floods and landslides in those areas.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, the weather bureau added.
