TOMAS OK WITH INFRA PROJECT DELAYS

After expressing disgust over nationally-funded infrastructure projects not coordinated with City Hall, Mayor Michael Rama may have his way, but for another reason.

Political arch-rival Rep. Tomas Osmeña is amenable to deferring implementation of his pet infrastructure project until after the 2013 election, “when Rama is taken out of City Hall.”

The budget from the Department of Public Works and Highways flyover project Osmeña proposed near the Modesta Gaisano Street in Lahug was realigned to various road improvement projects in the south district..

“Mr. Rama is finding all excuses to stop the implementation of the road projects. But he is the one who is accusing me of being an obstructionist,” said Osmeña in a press conference yesterday./Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac

GUADALUPE COMPLAINS OVER BUDGET

The barangay Guadalupe chief is complaining about the failure of City Hall to release their share of financial aid and garbage trucks.

Barangay captain Michael Gacasan said their share of the financial assistance worth P17 million has been withheld by City Hall while their garbage truck is languishing in the motorpool.

Gacasan said the limited resources that they have is making it difficult for the barangay to deliver basic services to their constituents, especially in the collection of garbage.

The barangay captain laments that his alliance with the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kagawasan (BOPK) may have something to do with the situation./Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
