MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon will experience rains as low pressure area and the southwest monsoon continues to affect the region, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its latest weather forecast, Pagasa said the low pressure area was seen 700 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes while the southwest monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon.

The western sections of Northern Luzon and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the western section of Northern and Central Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southeast to West with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa said.
