Aga Mulach to take oath as LP member Friday
MANILA, Philippine—Actor Aga Mulach, who is eyeing a seat in Congress, is set to join President Benigno Aquino III’s Liberal Party (LP), a party official said on Thursday.
Mulach, according to LP secretary general Joseph Abaya, will take his oath as new member of the party on Friday.
“He is scheduled to attend a Basic Liberalism and Democracy tomorrow afternoon. After which, we will take his oath as an LP member,” Abaya said in a text message.
Mulach has been vocal about his plan to represent the 4th district of Camarines Sur in the House of Representatives.
“We’ve discussed this. Charlene just said, ‘In case you decide to run, you have to promise to close your eyes and ears to what people will say against you.’ She said I should not show any sign of weakness and that, in times of self-doubt, I should go back to my desire to help people,” the actor said in an article published last month by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
