THE Power Forty President’s Cup-2012 celebrated its 23rd anniversary last Saturday with a 3-point shoot-out competition and exhibition games among 50-year old players and those 60-and above at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym in barangay Inayawan.
Michael Arias of Park n’ Go topped the 3-point shootout with a total of 14 treys while Joel Cañete of Jin-Jic and Alex Mercado of Utassco grabbed 2nd and 3rd place honors with 12 and 7 points, respectively.
In the 50’s category, the Power Forty Selection trounced NAFBA, 116-108 while in the 60’s category, the Power Forty Selection drubbed Talisay Basketball Association (TBA), 95-77 to make it a double celebration.
Skipper Vez Eleguin had a game-high 37 points to lead Power Forty 60’s while Hayes Restauro paced TBA with 20 markers.
