/ 11:01 PM July 31, 2012

Depressed and feeling responsible for her boyfriend’s decision to end his own life, a 22-year-old woman also tried to kill herself by jumping from the fifth floor of a condominium in Quezon City Tuesday morning.

Mary Jocelyn Basilio, however, walked away from her suicide attempt with just a bruise on the head after she landed on a Kia Rio (ZSV 470) whose roof and windshield was shattered by her fall.

An initial police report said that the incident took place around 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Smile Citihomes condominium in Barangay Kaligayahan, Quezon City.

Her state, he added, was further aggravated after some of her friends started blaming her for her boyfriend’s death.

Tuesday morning, Basilio sent her older sister a text message in which she asked for forgiveness for her decision to kill herself.
